Please see attached Ashbourne Safer Neighbourhood Team quarterly community update. It summarises the local issues raised over the last quarter, what we've been doing, and the priorities we'll be focusing on next. Safer Neighbourhood Team Quarterly Community Update This update outlines the progress made on the community priorities set for your area by the Local Policing Inspector John TROUP in collaboration with the Safer Neighbourhood Supervisors, Sgt Chris GRANT and PCSO Supervisor Karl MILLWARD. Community priorities are reviewed and set on a quarterly basis, guiding the focus of the Safer Neighbourhood Team’s activity, in this update, you’ll find: New priorities are determined by analysing local crime trends and incorporating feedback from you, the community, through engagement events, surveys and direct contact. Previous Priorities Speeding and hazardous driving Road safety concerns including parking and driver behaviour ASB and Linked nuisance behaviour in the Drug related concerns in the Ashbourne area Action Taken The team has continued visible and proactive policing, supported by high visibility patrols, plain cloths activity, and targets operations. We have engaged with parish councils, residents, local businesses and schools, gathering feedback and identifying problem areas utilising Derbyshire Alert survey data, Police crime data and incident reports are assessed to identify patterns, repeat offending locations and offenders. Focused work has taken place around speeding, hazardous driving and road safety concerns. Police speed operations have been conducted, section 59 warnings issued where appropriate, and advice given to drivers. Road Traffic Collisions and related concerns were identified across the are and these have influenced targeted patrols and planning. In relation to drugs in Ashbourne Town has seen intelligence led work around drug dealing and drug use. Officers have carried out Drug Warrants, Arrests, stop searches, community engagements, and taken positive action where offences and crimes identified. ASB has been continually monitored across Ashbourne and surrounding areas showing repeat issues in Ashbourne town centre, while other areas had isolated or no ASB concerns. Antisocial behaviour legislation and powers used to tackle persons, addresses and locations in partnership with other agencies. Outcomes Speeding and road safety hotspots identified, patrolled and enforced. Engagement with parish councils and residents across in Ashbourne and surrounding areas. Police Stop checks conducted resulting in positive outcomes for drug related offences. Derbyshire Alert responses captured and used to shape policing priorities. Reduction in some ASB complaints outside Ashbourne Town. Improved Drug intelligence picture. New Priorities Following community engagement, Derbyshire Alert surveys and review of crime and incident data, the following priorities have been identified for the next quarter. Hulland Ward & Brailsford Villages. Speeding and hazardous driving Road safety concerns including parking and driver behaviour Tissington & Carsington Villages No Localised concerns ND11 Ashbourne Drug related issues including intelligence development and targeted patrols. Repeat ASB impacting residents Road safety concerns including visibility and driver behaviour Marston and Clifton Speeding and hazardous driving Road safety concerns including RTC locations and driver behaviour. Going Forward To support these priorities the team will Continue high visibility and plain clothes patrols in identified hotspots. Work alongside road policing, Crest and Community Speed Watch schemes where necessary. Maintain close partnership with councils, schools and key agencies. Use Derbyshire Alert and social media to keep residents updated. Encourage reporting from the community to help shape future policing activity.
